As a founder of the firm, Sara has a long and successful track record leading executive search. She attributes that success to invaluable early career experiences in marketing at JP Morgan Chase, Discover Card and IBM. Sara’s search practice includes marketing, general management, design, engineering, sales management, HR, and finance across a broad range of industries. She holds a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago.

Sara is passionate about tracking and interpreting the issues that impact attracting and retaining strong talent. “With the rapidly changing workplace confronting us all, I anticipate the next 10 years to be the most exciting time in my search career. Clients will expect dramatically different skills than they have in the past. Successfully building virtual leadership teams will gain momentum. The ability to continuously adapt as the workplace evolves will be critical to executive search.”

Beyond work life, family and friends tell Sara they enjoy the food she loves to cook. An accomplished pianist with a love for 20th century composers, Sara continues to study and perform. Her passion for mid-century architecture, furniture and fine art is reflected in the Coffou’s home and office design. Sara bridges her enthusiasm for the arts and her work by volunteering her professional expertise to emerging not-for-profit arts organizations.

Jim’s objective is simple: contribute to clients’ success by presenting candidates that will add value quickly. His executive search expertise is unique: recognizing the right blend of technical acumen and creative leadership that will drive technical transformations in hardware/software companies, technology service organizations and traditional corporate information technology functions. The foundation of Jim’s skill includes technology sales at IBM followed by leadership of large and complex client technology projects for Ernst & Young. Over the last 25 years, Jim has honed his talents by successfully recruiting technical leaders, including CIO’s, CTO’s and their leadership teams, for his clients.

“Today, technology permeates every business function. It’s no longer just an expense center but a key driver of business regardless of industry. Increasingly, clients are looking for three key dynamics: technology leadership, tremendous business acumen, and the ability to heavily influence decision-making across the enterprise. I thrive when helping clients balance and articulate requirements for each of these three arenas and they welcome my ability to evaluate leaders for this multi-pronged set of competencies. I anticipate these requirements will only become more complex in the coming years.”

Outside of the office Jim has become an accomplished baker and is frequently requested to bake his desserts for family and friends. All that good eating is fueled by his love of road biking. Someday he would like to ride across America, but for now that plan is on hold. Family is very important to Jim and nothing brings him greater pleasure than seeing his children take center stage applying all the life skills that he hopes he has imparted.

Peter Szabo is the Chief Partnership Officer for SpenglerFox and Coffou Partners’ key liaison into their global capabilities.  Based in Copenhagen, Peter has more than 14 years executive search experience and has made more than 400 senior level placements during that time. Peter is instrumental in providing a seamless conduit between Coffou Partners’ US practice and the global affiliations of SpenglerFox. Peter graduated from a prestigious Hotel Management School in Switzerland and holds an executive MBA from OUBS with Change- and Knowledge Management major.

Peter is also an avid sports fan and his favorite sports include football (aka soccer), ice hockey and water polo.  He also has an artistic side with an interest in theatre and a passion for musicals.  He is inspired by meeting new people globally and prides himself on establishing long term relationships based on trust.  He  goes the extra mile and is always available if he is needed.

Coffou Partners and Goldberg Executive Coaching work together to provide tools that promote new leader assimilation, in the form of assessments, individual executive level coaching, and workshops.  Established in 2007 and based in the Chicagoland area, the firm has a broad range of clients including Kohl’s Retail Stores, CDW, MB Financial, US Cellular, DeVry University, University Healthsystem Consortium, and Starcom.  Engagements all center around taking leaders to their next level of performance – addressing leadership development, team transformation and alignment, change leadership, and culture transformation.

Josette brings deep executive level experience to her consulting practice.  Prior to launching the firm, she held SVP of HR roles with Trizec Properties, Enesco Group, Household Finance, and Balcor (a division of American Express.)  Each of those organizations exposed her to highly diverse cultures, ownership models, organizational structures, and management processes which have been invaluable in her effectiveness as a consultant and coach.  She is committed to listening, guiding and teaching others, finding her reward from their continued successful professional career.  Her approach is one of simplicity, flexibility, and engagement.

In her personal life, Josette loves the outdoors.  She and her husband are avid bikers, hikers, and nature enthusiasts with an eye toward ecology and sustainability. She has a passion for helping children and young adults, acting as a board member of an organization that helps medically fragile children, mentoring young adult emerging leaders, and watching her three adult children thrive in their own diverse careers.
